About Me
Starting at an early age, my fascination with computers began on a ZX Spectrum. I fondly remember waiting for the game Outrun to slowly load of a cassette tape and trying to learn to program this device from an instruction manual. A few years and numerous membrane replacements later i finally retired the ZX in favour of an Apple II (I still have this stashed away in an attic). The Apple II was second hand, which meant i inherited a computer where the monitor would routinely overheat and at time blow smoke and the floppy drive head would never read the disks until i physically pushed the head to make contact with the disk media. Even with all this, it still was an amazing tool. A few years and many assembled machines later i discovered SCO UNIX and eventually Linux. Since then Linux has been my main OS and development environment.
Over the years i have been fortunate to work on large scale technical projects that span globally distributed offices. Projects that range from hardcore development all the way to designing and building out office spaces. In that time languages, operating systems and platform hardware have changed, but my passion to create & innovate while working on very technically challenging problems has remained constant.
