Zanskar in a raft - Part 4
/The next morning we wake up early and take a crash course in packing and storing our tents. By the end of the trip we became experts at tent setup and dismantling.
After a hearty breakfast, we piled into our trusty van for the last leg of the road journey. This section was exceptionally barren, cold and dusty. But we weathered it all knowing that we were getting to the river.
Below are some choice images from the last leg of the road journey.
Finally after 3 long days on a dust covered road with freezing temperatures we all were relieved to finally arrive at Remala and get a glance of the Zanskar (our road for the next 6 days).
There is not much that i can write about Rangdum, its a pretty desolate little town, where the locals brave sub zero temperatures in the winters and are cut off from the rest of civilization when a flood hit. Some of the kids from the village came down to our campsite to see us setup.
Finally we were able to get all our gear setup. Our primary mode of transport were three 7 person rafts. We also had two safety kayaks along for the journey.
